At the end of 2024, MagLiteracy celebrated an incredible achievement 30 years in the making — placing Literacy Newsstands stocked with beautiful magazines for all ages into a supermarket-size food pantry market in Grove City, Ohio, operated by the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, the largest food bank in Ohio and among the most innovative in the world.
The market serves thousands of families with fresh produce and emergency food supplies each week who now can take magazines home to promote reading and literacy.
Families can now grab magazines on the spot, aligning literacy with everyday life. Because we bridged the gap between bodily nourishment and intellectual enrichment in these locations, each new Literacy Newsstand became a milestone showing how integral reading can be to meeting fundamental community needs.
This milestone on our journey to reach millions of children and families with precious reading materials is the result of your generous support, along with tens of thousands of hours invested by thousands of volunteers, and the unwavering support of consumers, publishers, printers, logistics companies, financial backers and more. Your time, talent, treasure, faith and heavy lifting make this possible.
Together, we are sharing the enormous power of the magazines we love to feed eager readers with hungry minds along with meals that change lives for good.
Thanks for sharing the literacy love!
