Bendyworkers have wrapped their arms and hearts and heads around our project early and often – navigating our technical infrastructure and implementing improvements to our literacy marketplace. They have helped us understand that our dream is as much empowered by technology as it is a human capital enterprise – to build a global crowdfunded literacy marketplace where consumers, businesses, and publishers can meet to match community literacy wishlists for villagers who want to love and learn to read anywhere and everywhere in the world.
At Bendyworks, rockstar designers and coders have brainstormed about our goals and invested in improving our user interfaces and marketing. Today, they gifted us some familiar furniture to be repurposed in our new global operations office. Familiar, because we got our initial start-up boost sitting in these very same chairs at these very same desks while incubating in bendyworks co-working space.
We proudly sit at a singularity on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in the thriving hub of downtown Madison WI – ready to burst out toward endless possibilities.
This is our global literacy moonshot.
JFK once told reporters “we choose to go to the moon, and to do the other things – not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”
We’ve accomplished much, but have many challenges ahead in this campaign to defeat illiteracy and disrupt poverty – tens of millions of eager readers are waiting.
We are forever indebted to the our friends in high places – in the cloud, and on earth – the angels who invest in our dreams and who lighten and speed us toward higher orbit.
Join us.
Friends in high places fuel our global literacy moonshot
